Do you agree that DRUG TESTING should be done as a requirement for admission to schools?

Yes.. first, schools that conduct drug testing hope that random testing will serve as a deterrent, and give students a reason to resist peer pressure to take drugs. Secondly, drug testing can identify adolescents who have started using drugs so that interventions can occur early, or identify adolescents who already have drug problems, so they can be referred for treatment.

Drug abuse not only interferes with a student's ability to learn, but it can also disrupt the teaching environment, affecting other students as well.

  1. I think the main points in your essay are the drugs as an interference to the student's ability to learn and disruption in the teaching environment.

  4. Hi Diana! Thanks for dropping by my blog. I answered your questions back there. lol.

And my answer to your question here is:
Sure, it's a nice concept to have drug testing in schools for all the potential benefits it can bring in saving our youth from drug addiction... but who will fund it?

If the school funds it, they will have to increase tuition fees to cover drug testing equipment, certified drug testers, etc. You will also have to get parents' approval for their children to be tested for drugs as some people may think this is an invasion of privacy.

If the government funds it, it becomes (1) another venue for corruption and (2) where will they get the funds? :D

Hehe, sorry that answer gave you more questions to think about. But I guess it gives more depth of analysis right?
